Who gave the order?
Hasty decision making is a poor strategy in the long run…
A little more than a year after an aesthetically pleasing, empowering, and moving film, arresting us with the ancestral glory and depths of various continental Afrikan beliefs and cultures was released on the streaming platform owned by the rat corporation, I mean Disney+, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z made their appearance in Tiffany’s flashy ABOUT LOVE campaignContinue reading “Black is king, but the green dollar is God”
Tsato is an insecure, entitled bully who met his downfall because his insecurities were so severe that they prevented him from minding his own business, even though doing so would have cost him nothing at all.
I don’t think I’ve ever hated a place before… but that sh*t was ghetto af.
Even when things are falling place.
How NOT to land in a company you won’t like working for…
It’s been a while…
The amount of time work takes from you is wildly downplayed. Nine to five may only be eight hours, but when you add the hours that you lose while commuting and preparing for work, that easily turns what should be a 40-hour work week into a 55 hour one…
The author didn’t tell a story with Yoruba characters in a Yoruba land, and she didn’t do the work to create a completely fictional universe either. Instead, she leaned very heavily on the otherness of her Nigerian heritage, believing that it would be enough to satisfy her target audience because it was unfamiliar to them. She pulled it off because she was right about her audience…
“Binary thinking, also known as dichotomous thinking, happens when even complex concepts, ideas, and problems are overly simplified into being one side or another. The gray area in the middle is ignored or goes unnoticed.”
Real love is more complex than what the idea of ‘love at first sight’ or that of having ‘one soulmate’ would suggest. I believe these ideas are oversimplifications of love and relationships designed to stroke egos. It’s designed to tell you not to worry if someone can’t love your flaws, because there is someone out there who will love those flaws and THAT person is your soulmate.
The problem is that these ‘lone wolves’ are everywhere. They are your work colleagues. They are your family members. They are your friends. And as has been demonstrated with this case (and others), they even police our neighborhoods. Avoiding these ‘lone wolves’ while living a normal life at the same time is terrifyingly difficult.
Meghan and Harry are from the royal family and have a child who is at least 75% white and looks just like his white cousins. Them being ‘forced’ to live off Harry’s inheritance of at least £10 million (from what I have read) from his mother’s estate is not representative of black people’s experience with racism in the UK.
My ideas come like random, frequent yet scattered rain showers, and organizing them feels like I’m trying to catch the rain in open palms, but the rain drops keep falling through my fingers.
The statement ‘Africans are too tribalistic’ is a western oversimplification of African views on identity. Besides, Africans could just as easily say ‘westerners only care about race’.
